Even though this is not the same attention paid on new end new fantasy remakes, Square Enix gave the first six matches in the treatment of RPG A ‘Pixel Remaster’. In the company’s E3 presentation, it announced that this pixel-perfect edition will land on the mobile and steam platform. Other details, however, are rare.
This will help set expectations: this is not another FFVII remake. Games like Final Fantasy VI can benefit from a refreshing edition – the steam iteration (and ‘updated’ graphics) is not fully well received.
Faithful reproduction can be well received, especially when smartphones can easily run the game which was originally made decades before – and introduced it to a new generation that might not play it. (And don’t tell anyone, but I never finished Final Fantasy II. This might be my chance.)
