Five years after its initial publication, CrossPlay finally arrives in Overwatch. Blizzard will soon start the beta test of functionality, allowing players on all platforms where the game is available – PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S / X and Nintendo Switch – to group and play one with them with other. To use the feature, you must create a Battle.net account if you do not have one and bind it to your Xbox, PSN or Nintendo account. It’s something that Blizzard will now require Overwatch players to do if you plan to take advantage of crossplay support or not.
Another thing to note is that any collection content you earn on a system will not be transported to another platform. CrossPlay will also work for all other than competing game modes. In this context, Blizzard will put console players in a pool and PC players in another. The studio says it does this for reasons of balance. Finally, Blizzard will give all those who connect their accounts together before the end of the year a free golden box.
